DELTA Closes Year with Record Amount of Giving
Company increased giving in 2009 by $5,100 over previous year.
Arlington, VA – DELTA Resources Inc. through its philanthropic arm DELTActs provided $61,335 in 2009 to various charitable organizations throughout the Washington metro area and nationally. This breaks the 2008 record of $56,163.18. The increase of $5,171.82 represents more than a 9% growth in DELTA’s giving. The annual total is a combination of giving by employees, matching gifts by DELTA, and corporate sponsorships of events under DELTActs.
DELTA President and CEO Maria Proestou said, “In these challenging economic times I am proud of the efforts by DELTA and its employees in our philanthropic support. The increase in giving over the past year demonstrates a strong commitment to our community. It is part of our culture at DELTA to encourage support through monetary or volunteer means.”
The Fisher House™ Foundation, DELTA’s “Philanthropy of the Year” for 2009-10, was a major recipient of giving by DELTA and its employees during 2009 with $18,940. This is the fourth year that DELTA employees chose the organization as the “Philanthropy of the Year.”
